Prof. VIRGEL C. BINGHAY, Ph.D.

Dr. “Dong” Binghay is currently Associate Professor and Coordinator, Graduate Studies Program, School of Labor and Industrial Relations, University of the Philippines (UP-SOLAIR) in Diliman where he teaches industrial relations and human resource development courses to graduate students.

As an academician, he conducts researches and extension services in the same fields of discipline. Aside from his present position, he does consulting work with many organizations on matters pertaining to industrial relations, human capital management, human resource development, and general management.

An accredited Voluntary Arbitrator of the Department of Labor and Employment, he is likewise, a Trustee of the Dir. Joselito Palisoc Scholarship Foundation – a foundation providing scholarships to poor but deserving Filipino youths.

Dr. Binghay has the following degrees: Ph.D. in Educational Sociology and Anthropology; Master of Industrial Relations (Specialization: Human Resource Development); and Diploma in Industrial Relations - all from the University of the Philippines in Diliman. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of the Philippines at Los Banos. He has a Certificate in Quality Management from the Tokyo Kenshu Center in Japan.
